Guitar Center employees ratify contract

Workers at four Guitar Center stores ratified their first contract with the company today, according to the Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Union.

The contract — which covers stores in New York, Chicago, Danvers, Mass., and Las Vegas — includes base wage increases over the next three years and gives employees access to union-sponsored health care.

“Workers from all four stores fought to ensure the voices of their over 100 co-workers were heard — and the company listened,” RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum said in a statement. “I am extremely proud of the negotiations team involved in this first contract and the provisions they reached in unison.”
