Big Idea Friday: Ask Employees To Get Involved By Doing Good Works

  • November 6, 2015

Build An Atmosphere of Kindness and Caring

At the CUE Conference in Denver, several CUE experts spent part of a session talking about employers could utilize social media to build positive conversations with their employees.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring examples and ideas from companies that do an outstanding job of this.  You’ll be able to find them here on Friday’s as part of our new weekly blog feature that we are calling Big Idea Friday.  The Twitter hashtag will be #BigIdeaFriday.

One of the messages from the Denver session was that if you want people to be involved with your brand on social media, you need to do two things: 1) talk to them and 2) give them something to talk about.  Here’s one simple yet effective tool for doing just that while building employee community and engagement.  Give people a cause they can get behind.  It can be something as simple as asking them to do something nice.  My friend Laurie Ruettimann doesn’t believe in creating culture at work, but she does believe in creating a positive atmosphere at work.

Try Creating An Atmosphere of Kindness. Ask people to do good. Give Them A Cause To Work With.

It will make your work atmosphere kinder and more engaged.
