Reported today in Politico, Senate HELP Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) introduced legislation Wednesday to repeal the Obama administration’s union election rule . The rule, which took effect in 2015, aims to speed up the union election process by restricting court challenges prior to an election. The rule also requires that employers provide union organizers with all available personal addresses and phone numbers for workers who are eligible to vote. Alexander’s bill would, among other things, lengthen to 35 days the minimum amount of time necessary to conduct union elections.
