Are your leaders struggling to lead in times of profound change & ambiguity? Successful organizations must have the ability to deal with the sheer number of changes in strategy, business models, structure, culture and processes, as well as the ever-accelerating pace of change. The hard truth is that companies have a 1-in-3 chance of failing in the next five years – up from 1-in-20 less than 50 years ago. Globalization, technological innovation, and socio-political considerations are challenging established business models and companies must have strategies to embrace change and become resilient organizations.

This workshop is for both experienced and emerging leaders, whether in a senior role leading people through organizational, culture or other business changes or in a supervisory role leading a team for the first time.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will develop knowledge to understand:
  • Their role in leading a team through organizational, strategic or technology changes
  • The processes, tools and practices required to lead and support their team through change, enabling them to thrive in ambiguous situations
  • What “resilience” means and how to become a resilient leader
  • How to build resilience in their teams
  • Participants will have multiple opportunities to apply the knowledge of key concepts to their organization throughout this workshop

Workshop Design

This workshop will be engaging and interactive and provide participants with hands-on experience in applying the concepts to their specific role at their organization. The overall flow is as follows:

Understanding How to Manage Change

  • Why is it important to understand how to manage change and build resilience?
  • Processes and tools to manage change effectively
  • Define the ways to drive effective change management
  • ACTIVITY: Table discussion to apply concepts to a real-life situation
  • Best practices leading through change
  • Your role as a leader and how to overcome resistance to change

Building Resiliency

  • Three components of resilience
  • Growth vs. Fixed Mindset
  • ACTIVITY: Table Discussion: Apply the Growth vs. Fixed Mindset
  • ACTIVITY: Individual: Resilience self-reflection
  • Tips for building resiliency in yourself
  • Building resiliency in others
  • ACTIVITY: Individual self-reflection to plan for building resilience in others
